Clubhouse's technical architecture is built around real-time audio streaming — a demanding infrastructure requirement because audio latency above a few hundred milliseconds makes conversation feel broken. The platform manages room creation and discovery, live audio mixing for up to thousands of simultaneous speakers and listeners, user notifications for when followed creators go live, and the Clubhouse Recording feature that lets creators save and share rooms after they end. When Clubhouse's servers experience problems, the effects on live rooms are immediate and disruptive.
