What is Seesaw?
Seesaw found its niche in early childhood and elementary education by building a digital portfolio platform that made it possible for young children — including pre-readers — to capture and share their learning with parents and teachers. Students take photos of their work, record audio explanations, draw, write, or create video reflections directly on the device, and the activity is shared automatically with their teacher and parents. That multimodal capture capability, designed for children who cannot yet type, gave Seesaw a differentiated position in the K-2 and K-5 market where traditional text-based LMS tools fall short.
Teachers use Seesaw to assign activities, provide audio or video feedback on student work, share the portfolio with parents in real time, and communicate with families through the Class Message feature.
