Vinted launched in 2008 in Vilnius, Lithuania, as a peer-to-peer marketplace for second-hand fashion, built on the premise that buying and selling pre-loved clothing should be simple, social, and sustainable. It has since grown into Europe's largest secondhand clothing platform, operating in over 20 countries including Germany, France, the UK, Belgium, Poland, and the Netherlands, with tens of millions of active members listing everything from designer handbags to everyday basics.

Unlike many resale platforms, Vinted charges no selling fees to individual sellers — revenue comes from buyer protection fees and advertising.
